HOT SPRINGS, Va. -- Longwood University finished eighth among 12 schools in the 2012-13 Big South Conference George F. 'Buddy' Sasser Cup standings, as announced late Thursday at the annual Spring Meetings Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.  The Lancers completed their first year as members of the Big South with 105.5 points from their 13 league sports for an average of 8.12.  The women's sports totaled 74 points among seven sports to finish fourth with an average of 10.57.  The men's sports totaled 31.5 points among six sports to finish 11th with an average of 5.25.  Liberty University was awarded the Sasser Cup Trophy for 2012-13 with 244 points (13.56), its conference-record sixth consecutive title and 11th overall.
